SENDINBLUE vs MAILCHIMP: Which platform will make you the most money?

As a current or future niche site builder, your money is on your list. The people on your email list want to hear from you, are receptive to your ideas, and trust you.

Your mailing list is a gold mine.

Email marketing is not a new concept. But it's still one of the best ways to get visitors, leads, or customers and retain them. That's why Spencer works so hard to get email subscribers.Once someone is on your list, you become a familiar face. They can see you as a friend and will be happy to hear from you.

Unlike other marketing tactics, email offers personalization and  scalability, two factors that are crucial in today's business. You want to be able to send your subscribers emails that meet their needs and requirements for better conversion rates.

More importantly, you need the ability to analyze your previous email campaigns and use the data collected to build much better campaigns to move forward.

As one of the most popular email marketing platforms, MailChimp  continues to provide users with convenient ways to send and track emails sent to subscribers. There's a lot to like about MailChimp. But it is not perfect There are alternativesOne of these alternatives is Sendinblue .

It is based on the standard of how email marketing should be done as established by tools like MailChimp, but it also adds their personal touch. Therefore, if you are looking for a legitimate alternative to MailChimp, then Sendinblue is probably what you are looking for.

However, instead of letting you do the dirty work comparing both email tools, this Sendinblue vs MailChimp review will do it for you.

In this post, you will learn the following:

  • The unique features that both instruments must distinguish from each other
  • Pros and cons of each software to help give you a better idea of what you're getting from both tools
  • The verdict for this Sendinblue vs MailChimp review – which of the two is better for your business?

At the end of this review, we decide that we like SendinBlue more than Mailchimp. It is easier to use, a little more powerful and less expensive than the best-known brand. You can click here to try SendinBlue for free.

To understand how both tools measure up to each other, it's only fair to first discuss Sendinblue and MailChimp to understand what they can do as email marketing platforms.

Sendinblue understands the value of email marketing as a channel to reach your target market. Therefore, they created their tool specifically to help businesses convert subscribers into paying customers. It takes everything that makes email marketing great by adding its own stamp to the product.

Sendinblue Home PageBelow are the features that will help you consider Sendinblue as your email platform of choice:

Also known as "on" emails, this type of data-driven email allows you to automatically send users a message based on their interaction or behavior on your site or app.For example, if a user has made an in-app purchase, you can configure Sendinblue to send the user the receipt of their purchase by email. You can develop your transactional emails via the tool's SMTP email or transactional SMS (more on that later).

Technically, MailChimp doesn't have the ability to send transactional emails. This feature is available through Mandrill, a transactional email API for MailChimp users. With MailChimp, you can set up trigger-based emails, but only as part of its marketing automation feature, which Sendinblue also has.

If you want to take your marketing efforts outside of email, you can send SMS messages that users will receive directly on their phones. It's similar to email marketing in the sense that subscribers can get your messages through their mobile devices. However, SMS marketing has distinct advantages such as:

  • Fast deliverability: Users will receive the message seven seconds after sending them from Sendinblue.Other marketing tactics are quick in themselves, but nothing is quicker than SMS messaging.
  • Convenient opt-in and opt-out – With emails, there's a chance that you'll have to reconfirm your desire to subscribe or unsubscribe from a list (through double opt-in).With SMS, you can simply enter the text to subscribe or unsubscribe and you're all set!
  • High open and conversion rates: Users are trained to open notifications from their mobile devices. One reason that explains this is that there is no spam filter on SMS.With email, even if you send high-value content, there's a chance that the email client will put your message in the recipient's spam folder. You won't have this problem with SMS.Once sent, your SMS message goes directly to your phone's native message app and is ready for users to view.
  • Short and sweet – Some emails are unnecessarily long asking users to unsubscribe and fine-tune that mark.SMS messages are inherently short with up to 160 characters. While this may seem like a limitation to some, treat it as a challenge to create more aggressive and more compact marketing messages for your subscribers.Short messages are also perfect for most people's attention span.Statistics of Sendinblue

Not every business can find a use for SMS marketing, but they see it as a viable channel to complement email marketing campaigns. If you can develop a strategy that puts SMS messaging to good use for your brand, you can engage more people who aren't involved in emails.

Create beautiful, amazing emails to communicate your message without any programming and design experience.Drag and drop the items you want to appear in your email and edit accordingly.

You can also choose from a handful of email templates so you don't have to start on a blank slate.Taking content from a template and tailoring it to your purposes is a great way to convert while it's still you.

SendinBlue also allows you to stand out by allowing you to fill in individual details for each email subscriber. You can put these details in the email to make it look like every customer is receiving a personal email. This helps increase conversion rates and keep people on your email list.

SendinBlue allows you to send highly targeted emails to a portion of your email list to further increase open and conversion rates. This helps if some on your list want different things. For example, NichePursuits' email list has the ability to select what you want to know. You can choose to learn how to build niche sites or Amazon FBA.

Segmenting your subscribers helps ensure everyone gets content they love.

In addition to segmenting your audience, you can organize your subscribers using folders for better productivity. In addition, you can create signup forms to show on your website in hopes of increasing your subscriber count. You don't need to use a third-party app to create forms!

After sending your email campaign, you can track its progress in real time.See the people who opened your emails and clicked on your links that you can use to help you build your PDF or CSV reports. You can also receive unique information such as the geographic area most involved in your emails, which platforms they used to open your emails, and more.

These analytics help you understand your audience and better serve as they want. It's possible that most of your list opens your emails on their mobile phones, so you can better optimize for small screens.Maybe they always open your emails at noon, so you could do a better job of making sure the email is waiting for them when they check their emails.

SendinBlue allows you to develop triggers and workflows designed to automate the email marketing process so you can focus on growing your business. There are no limits to the steps and variables you can include in your trigger, helping you create a more varied and comprehensive campaign.

SendinBlue has a curated feature that allows you to integrate SMS marketing into your automation as well. You can send an explosion of emails with a text reminder or shoot your list a text with a link to your new item/product/discount code.

This automation feature also includes detailed tracking. You can see what your list responds best to, what type of content they're looking for, and how to reach them best.

SendinBlue works as a powerful tool for your marketing campaigns. We discuss this in SendinBlue's pricing section (so read on), but SendinBlue is free for anyone sending fewer than 300 emails per day.

That's quite a large number for free email marketing tools. You could approach the 10,000 subscriber mark without ever paying a dollar if your list was segmented.

MailChimpOver the years, MailChimp has focused on catering to ecommerce site owners and helping them with their email needs.By taking advantage of its powerful features, online store owners can ensure that they increase their revenue if they play their cards well using MailChimp. At the same time, it is quite versatile and we can not argue with free.

Let's take a deeper dive into some of what makes Mailchimp unique.

If you like to create emails on MailChimp using its drag-and-drop generator, then you will have fun with its landing page builder. It takes drag and drop technology and applies it to landing page design and development. You don't have to be an amazing designer to create beautiful, high-converting pages using this feature. You can choose the content elements you want to include on the page and make the necessary changes.MailChimp Landing Page
The landing page creator of MailChimp has many uses such as the following:

  • Show products – If you have new products in stock or want to feature best-selling ones, you can easily create a page for this purpose and extract images from your site directly on the page.
  • Promote pre-sale campaign – For brands with a new product line coming soon, you can generate more buzz or get your loyal subscribers an exclusive rate for it.Create a product page and post to your subscribers so they can buy them at a lower price.Or you can create a waiting list for them and prioritize each of them in order.
  • Offer a free download – For non-online store owners, you can create valuable content that people can get their hands on if they sign up as subscribers. In addition to promoting the exclusive content of your page, you can create a landing page on MailChimp to facilitate the process much easier.Set up your campaign so that new subscribers receive the content directly in their inbox.
  • Throw freebies: Give your subscribers and brand supporters a helping hand by creating a lottery giveaway page just for their eyes.Offer giveaways and track the contest with ease.

In addition to finding the best ways to reach your audience, you may also need to find new and innovative ways.Ad campaigns give you avenues to grow your business by reaching the best social media channel and ad networks to attract the right people.

Below are the different advertising campaigns you can start on MailChimp:

  • Google retargeting ads – If someone visits your site but never makes a purchase or interacts with any of your pages, it's best to try this person again.Since they've already visited the page and are aware of your brand, it would be easier to convince this person to buy from you instead of someone who has never been to your site before. Therefore, Google remarketing ads are a great way to get this person back on the saddle. After you create an ad, MailChimp will feature your best-selling products on the Google Display Network from more than 2 million sites. While this feature is paid, you can take advantage of a free $50 ad campaign to get started with the kind permission of MailChimp.
  • Facebook ad campaigns: There's no better way to find customers for your business than to use the details of the customers currently on the list. With a Facebook ad campaign, you can target these people in hopes of increasing your conversion. To help you out, MailChimp allows you to create an image carousel or a single image that will appear on their Facebook feed. You can monitor ad performance directly from MailChimp and also make the necessary changes from there.
  • Instagram advertising campaigns – Unlike other social media sites, Instagram is strictly an image sharing platform. The better the quality of your images, the more likely they are to generate more engagement.Assuming you have high-resolution photos of your photos, you might want to feature them on this channel using MailChimp's Instagram ad campaign. It works the same way as Facebook's ad campaign builder: it creates an ad and shapes the target audience for customers in your email list.

You can use MailChimp alongside popular ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Magento, Prestashop, and others. You can also link your mailing list to different opt-in forms and WordPress plugins so you can easily create your list using the different tools available.

This is a useful feature to make sure that you can collect subscribers on any platform.Although I recommend WordPress for niche sites, having options for other integrations is never a bad thing.

This is also available with SendinBlue.

If you're stuck without a laptop or desktop, MailChimp's mobile app keeps you up to date with your email marketing campaign.Download the app on Android or iOs and make email magical by using it.Develop your campaigns, check your analysis and much more!

This is a nice feature that is really unique to Mailchimp. It's helpful to be able to check your stats right after sending out a big campaign.Statistical control can be addictive.Even when Spencer was on vacation, he couldn't stop checking his stats for his Amazon FBA business. This business continued to earn $4400 the first month, so I think I would have checked those numbers too!

In addition to the drag and drop email generator, you can choose from a range of email templates based on industry and purpose.Choose from different templates for newsletters, notifications, events, ecommerce, vacations, and more.Once you've chosen, you can only focus on building your message and not worrying about the design.

Templates serve as good starting points.Mailchimp already has a good idea of the things it converts and they want you to convert. You can customize these templates to make sure your list loves emails and feels personal.

Mailchimp allows you to create triggers to help you generate more sales by capturing visitors. You can send emails to your visitors based on the action they took on your site.

Using MailChimp's automation feature, you can also recover abandoned carts, track purchases, and recommend products similar to those they bought, among others. You can also integrate your ad campaigns and landing pages as part of your trigger or drip campaign.

NichePursuits uses something similar. In the mailing list we use, you can choose whether you want to learn how to build niche sites or start Amazon FBA.This type of segmentation helps ensure everyone has the content they love.

To help you refine your email campaigns, you can create two versions of the same campaign and pit them against each other.Using the data collected from the tool's analytics, see which one generated the most engagement and conversion.

You can replicate the positive results by implementing the same strategy and copy them into your next campaigns. At the same time, keep testing different versions of your campaigns each time to find better ways to develop your message.

A/B testing (or "split test") is essential to getting the most out of your list. You can learn what your audience likes and wants to hear.Once you know your audience's tastes, you can convert better, keep them longer on the list, and earn more money from each subscriber.

Now that we've seen what makes Sendinblue and Mailchimp different from each other, it's time to discuss their strengths and weaknesses to help you identify which one is right for your business needs.

It's hard to complete MailChimp's Forever Free plan (more on that later), but Sendinblue seems to be just as good, if not better. They have a free plan where you can handle as many emails as possible but only send 300 emails and SMS per day.

If you have more than 300 subscribers, you may want to stagger your campaign so you can send emails to everyone despite the limitation of 300 emails. If you stagger your emails or segment your market, you could get up to 10,000 subscribers or so without ever paying a dime.

Link Whisper is a revolutionary tool that makes internal linking much faster, easier and more effective.Make it easy to boost your site's authority in the eyes of Google. You can use Link Whisper to:

  • Show your orphaned content that isn't ranked
  • Create smart, relevant, and fast internal links
  • Simple but effective internal link reports: What has many links and which pages require more links?

Paid monthly subscription starts at $25/month.There is no daily limit to the number of emails you can send, but you can also reach a maximum of 40,000 emails sent per month. It is an interesting configuration and a valid alternative to MailChimp.Plus, if you have thousands of subscribers and are looking to attract more, Sendinblue claims to be four times cheaper than MailChimp.

Using SMS as part of your marketing campaign depends on the type of business you have.Regardless, the ability to send SMS is an interesting option considering its advantages and benefits. You can still launch email campaigns using Sendinblue however you wish, but SMS marketing helps you level the playing field by reaching your target audience in unique and irresistible ways.

SMS can be used in conjunction with email marketing to get the most out of your list. You can delete an email explosion with a text reminder or send a text message with a link to the most recent blog post. The options are unlimited.

Compared to MailChimp, Sendinblue offers an automation workflow view so you can easily compose follow-up emails. You can create triggers between emails to produce different actions based on the actions or conditions you've entered.

This is super useful and one of the biggest falls of Mailchimp. Not having this workflow automation can make it difficult to find which emails are coming out when.It can be difficult to figure out what actions trigger which response.

SendinBlue's workflow automation greatly simplifies email marketing.

  • Lack of email templates: When you design your email layout, you are left to your devices.Currently, there are only 12 email templates to choose from.As a result, you are forced to edit and edit most of the elements in the template to get the desired look of your email.

Overall, SendinBlue is affordable and powerful. It's a rare example of a "budget" tool that's as powerful as pay-to-play competitors. If I just started with email marketing and didn't have a budget, I would go with SendinBlue.

Click here to try SendinBlue for free. It's our favorite.

As powerful as MailChimp, it's just as easy to use.Even if you don't have any experience with an email marketing solution, you'll feel right at home with MailChimp. Its intuitive and dynamic user interface is one of a kind (the image of the monkey about to hit the "send" button before launching your campaign is a nice touch).

Developing a campaign and monitoring its results is pretty simple. The WYSIWYG builder makes email creation much easier for people with design issues, including me. 🙂

In line with the previous statement, MailChimp's extensive library of templates makes the need to design emails irrelevant.Send beautiful emails with little to no change on the existing template and focus on writing a killer email.

If you don't have more than 2,000 subscribers, you can use your Forever Free account. You can send a limited number of emails per month, but premium features such as landing page builder, ad campaign creation, and others are available to you.The 2000 is a bit more limited than SendinBlue's "300 emails a day" feature, but it does its job.

If you exceed 2,000 subscribers, you will be required to make a monthly payment starting at $10.We will discuss prices in more depth in a second.

  • No customization possibilities: MailChimp is practically ready for its way.It is not possible to customize and modify some of its features. The tool is meant for people who simply want the basic and essential functions of email marketing and don't care about bells and whistles. This should be good enough for beginner and intermediate business owners. But for people looking for more juice from their email marketing tool, they may not be able to find it on MailChimp.
  • Limited automation features: Most marketing automation platforms offer a view of your workflow so you can get a visual representation of how your drip campaign is set up and what triggers are involved in sending. With MailChimp, you don't have the workflow view. The interface is not as intuitive as it may have been which could lead to the embarrassing development of your drip campaigns.

Mailchimp has undergone 4 plans: free, basic, standard and corporate.

Free Mailchimp allows you to have up to 2000 subscribers, 7 marketing channels, basic automation, basic templates, and a client management service.

Mailchimp Essentials starts at $10 each month.Mailchimp evaluates its plans based on the number of subscribers you have. With 500 subscribers, Mailchimp Essentials costs $10 per month. With 2500 subscribers, it costs $30 per month. With 10,000 subscribers, it costs $75 per month.

Mailchimp Essentials allows you to get a maximum of 50,000 subscribers. With 50,000 subscribers, Essentials costs $259 per month.

Includes everything from Mailchimp Free and other templates. You can start A/B testing with this plan, remove the Mailchimp logo from all email footers, and get 24/7 support.

Mailchimp Standard starts at $15 each month. With 500 subscribers, Mailchimp Standard costs $15 per month. With 2500 subscribers, it costs $50 per month. With 10,000 subscribers, it costs $99 per month. With 50,000 subscribers, it costs $299 per month.

Mailchimp Standard allows you to get over 50,000 subscribers. This is the updated version of Essentials. The maximum is 100,000 subscribers and 100,000 subscribers, it costs $499 per month.

The standard comes with everything in Essentials. It also includes automation features, retargeting advertising, custom templates, and more advanced audience analytics.

Mailchimp Enterprise starts at $299 each month, and you can have 10,000 contacts at this price. With 50,000 subscribers, it costs $599 per month. If you're a big dog and have 100,000 subscribers, it's $699 per month.

NichePursuits Rating

You want to start a niche site that can bring in $3,000 per month… or more? Here I discuss:

  • The tools you'll need
  • How to get started with a budget
  • The best way to generate income quickly

Interested? Click here to learn how to start your own revenue-generating niche site.

Enterprise exceeds 200,000 subscribers, which will earn you around $1099 per month. If you need something more, you can contact Mailchimp for a custom plan.

Enterprise comes with everything included in the standard. You also get advanced segmentation for your audience, multivariate testing, multi-user allowances, and phone support.

One drawback here is that I think phone or chat support should be available for less than nearly $300 per month.

Yes, Mailchimp is free. But I think the prices for Mailchimp's plans go up very quickly. After running more than a few hundred subscribers, you can expect your prices to start at around $30 per month. This can be a bit of an expense for a business owner if you haven't yet gotten your income where it needs to be.

SendinBlue has 5 plans right now, but it only provides pricing information for 4 of them: free, lightweight, basic, and premium. You need to contact

SendinBlue Free costs nothing and is very generous with limits. You do not have a limit of subscribers, only a limit of sending. You can send up to 300 emails per day, about 9000 per month.

We mentioned earlier that if you segment your subscribers, you could get up to several thousand before you ever need to upgrade. This is very different from Mailchimp. To get even just $2500 subscribers on the cheapest plan, you're looking at $30 per month.

SendinBlue Free will allow you at least that many, maybe up to 10,000 subscribers, before you need to upgrade.Free has some interesting features, which even allow you to split the test right from the start.Mailchimp does not include this feature until you are a paying customer.

SendinBlue Lite starts at $25 per month. It allows you to have unlimited subscribers, but removes the daily sending limit.Instead of the daily sending limit, you can send 40,000 emails.

SendinBlue's cheapest plan starts higher than Mailchimp's cheapest plan. But you can ride the free plan for much longer than you can ride on Mailchimp's free plan. And when you do the math, SendinBlue is a little less expensive than Mailchimp's more comparable plan.

SendinBlue Lite allows you to send up to 40,000 emails per month. There is no limit to the list or number of submissions per day.To be able to send 40,000 emails per month with Mailchimp, you'll pay somewhere between $30 and $50 per month, a big chunk more than with SendinBlue.

SendinBlue Essential starts at $39 per month. It includes everything from Lite, but allows you to remove the SendinBlue logo and get some advanced stats. The sending limit increases to 60,000 and there are never subscriber limits.

This is a great plan for larger accounts. If you're knocking down a lot of subscribers and don't want to pay big fees, you can get plenty of power from $39 per month here. With Mailchimp, you'll have to pay $74 per month. This means that for an account of equivalent size, you need to pay almost double with Mailchimp.

It's hard to complain that I've saved so much per month, but I have a little annoyance here. This is the first plan offered by SendinBlue that allows you to remove the logo from footers. With Mailchimp, you can do this for $10 per month as long as you have fewer than 500 subscribers. It's a minor nuisance, but I wish I could remove the SendinBlue logo for less.

SendinBlue Premium is the engine of the SendinBlue suite. It starts at $66 per month and allows you to send up to 120,000 emails per month.A comparable plan with Mailchimp costs you around $100 per month.

SendinBlue also strengthens their Premium package by offering send time optimization, retargeting with Facebook ads and online chat services.

One thing I really like here is the sending time optimization. It's not a big deal when you first start. But when you have a 5- or 6-digit list, adding a few percentage points to your open rate makes a big difference.

Overall, I think SendinBlue is much better value than Mailchimp, but Mailchimp offers a bit more bells and whistles.

Thank you for reading our post on SendinBlue vs Mailchimp!SendinBlue and Mailchimp are both viable options for running your email marketing campaigns.

When it comes to it, SendinBlue offers more absolute value for the price. You have no email subscriber limits and are given monthly sending limits. These sending limits mean that even if you have a huge list, you can still pay less than competing services.

Mailchimp is a good plan if you want lots of bells and whistles for your business. But many of its features are not necessary. If you have money to spare, then Mailchimp is fine.If you're on a budget or trying email marketing, I recommend using SendinBlue. That's what I would use if I started again.
